Venice and Lake Como

In April Brian and I went to visit Brian's brother and sister-in-law near Aviano AB.   We first took a short train ride from near their home to Venice and spent the day.   The next day after learning to cook a clam pasta dish from a lady that only spoke Italian and her English translating partner, and buying some wine, we drove a few hours to the Lake Como area.  You might have seen parts of Lake Como starring as the city of Naboo in the Star Wars prequels, or Brian's favorite, at the end of Casino Royale when James Bond confronts Mr. White.  Apparently George Clooney has a house there also, maybe the one you see in Ocean's Twelve where the Night Fox lives.  Anyway, here are some pictures from our Northern Italy trip.

This is the view from the exit of the Venice train station.

Here is a view from Piazza San Marco (the pigeons are behind us).

The Ponte dei Sospiri or Bridge of Sighs because it was the last sight many prisoners saw as they moved from the interrogation rooms in Doge's Palace to the prison.

The Rialto Bridge.

A view from Lake Como.

Villas

Some Lakeside property that I don't think Brian and I can afford right now.

This may be in our price range though...

And it has a great view!
