During Meg's visit we spent one day lounging by the pool and smoking up some BBQ Pork Butt and Beef Brisket. One of the first purchases we made after moving in was to get Brian a new grill/smoker since we left our $1.00 smoker in Germany for our landlord to use. Brian did a lot of looking and knew he wanted this Char-Griller Smokin' Pro. We picked up one from Lowe's here in Vegas and this was Brian's second smoke on it. Unfortunately, he is still figuring out the quirks of this smoker compared to the last and the BBQ was not his best, but we ate it anyway. Still better than anything we can get outside of Texas. (By the way, look for another smoker in a later post...more info to follow).
Here is Brian "sweating over a hot smoker" as it were.
We have been keeping the puppies away from the pool up until now, but today we decided to see what they thought of the pool. Shelties are not known for liking water and they still don't. They would dip their nose in to fetch their frisbee and Sydney got into my lap while I sat in the shallow end, but I don't think we have t to worry about them getting into the pool on their own.
Although our pool is pretty shallow and only for relaxing and cooling off, we couldn't stop Meg from doing a cannonball.
All in all a great day of doing nothing in our own backyard.

Your backyard is so beautiful .. I think I hear it speaking to me: "Come lay out by the pool, Anne!"
