My computer got a virus and would not connect to the internet. This wasn't much of a problem last week since I was too sick to work. At first I thought I had a common cold (on steroids) but after a week passed and I only got worse, I now think (fear) it is allergies. I've never had allergies before so this is very new to me. Many days last week I couldn't even get out of bed. I have since forced myself out with death lurking in the corners. Unable to work Brian and I started my new computer search. It ended quickly when we were unable to find a new computer with Windows XP operating system. Di bought a new computer from a friend of a friend. I received specs for a new computer that I want to buy, but after emailing last Wed that I wanted this computer I haven't heard back. I don't know if it is a sign, but I'm still hopeful. Brian and I decided to save the $200 Best Buy Geek Squad fee to remove the virus and reformat my computer to the factory setting. After many hours of loading everything back onto the computer and updating, my internet now works. I will resume work immediately, that is if my allergies will allow. I am still on the search for a new computer given mine is ancient so if you have any suggestions please send them my way.
As for the floors, there were a lot of disasters that I'm not going to go into detail. It is still too hard to re-live. After scraping paint for 2 days and with our hands barely working we decided to give up and Brian bought an angle grinder. I taped up a plastic tarp in the doorway from the kitchen/living room to the rest of the house hoping to keep the paint dust out. That turned out to be a pipe dream (like my EOD Sunday timeline). To keep it short the dust got everywhere. We couldn't take pictures of our white hair because we couldn't see 2 feet in front of us nor could we touch anything. We cleaned for what seemed like days in the kitchen and living room. We still have the rest of the house, but at least we were able to lay the leveling/moisture barrier agent. Last time the agent was dry after 12 hours so we put it down Sat night thinking we could start on the wood Sun morning. WRONG. It was not dry. After giving it another 24 hours it is now dry and Brian has begun cutting the first row as I write the post.
