The next day we drove about 40 minutes to Luxembourg to a winery that makes sparkling wine (called Sekt in Germany) named Benard Massard. This was probably my mom's favorite part of the whole trip being that sparkling wine is her favorite. We arrived and took a tour outlining how sparkling wine is made, bottled, and labeled, both 80 years ago by hand and today with some automation. At the end we were able to sample some.
Here is the rest of sparkling wines available.
After we were done sampling the sekt, we drove to one of our favorite wine makers, Kurt Hain, in Piesport along the Mosel Valley. We took some pictures of the vineyards on the drive down the hill. This is the best time to see the vineyards in our region.
